Cat tracks down owner who was moved to a nursing home

Friday, October 10, 2014, 7:27 PM - Cleo is one smart kitty: The adorable feline managed to track down her owner after she was relocated to a nursing home. What's even more remarkable is that Cleo had never been to the building prior.

Nancy Cowen of the UK was moved into a home care facility six weeks ago. When she left her home she placed her cat in the care of her neighbours, local media reports.

But Cleo was having none of it, and set off to find her rightful owner.

She made her way to the facility and at first, staff thought the cat was a stray begging for food.

"About two weeks after Nancy moved in this cat just started turning up and sleeping on the benches outside the home. It was very strange," Laura Costello, an employee at the facility, told the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertiser.

Two more weeks passed before Nancy came face-to-face with the Cleo.

The pair have since been reunited. Officials at the care centre say that Cleo is welcome to stay at the home for as long as she likes.

"I have no idea how [Cleo] found her. It's quite spooky in a way," employee Fiona Collins told the Advertiser.
